Steaks n Cakes in Blytde

I love the Ambiance. The service is good. The place is a little small. The food was good I ordered Steak and eggs. Good Portion coz it filled me up fast!

The place is quaint and the decor cool for a small highway stop. The locals seem to really like it. The food was mediocre at best. Instant patties for the hamburgers and that fake cheese product that comes in cellophane wrapped slices. Even my omelette was full of that fake cheese. The prices were decent and the staff friendly.

We were on our way home from Disneyland when we stopped here. Everyone was tired and 4 out of 5 were coming down with the flu. Menu was full of comfort food and the waitress was so accommodating. We will definitely eat there again if we are in that vicinity.

Fun local diner woth humourous signs adorning the walls. We went for breakfast two days in a row. Great choices and good service.

Food is either cold, over cooked, or missing important items.dead flies in the window sill. Waitresses are always really nice so that's a plus.

The food was great. The hostess was very polite. We'll stop in here again on our way through. I recommend the machaca. It was excellent.

Great spot for breakfast among the Blythe locals. If you like metal signs with sayings on them, you are in for a treat. Interestingly, the women's restroom was labeled the "screw room", not sure what that is about.

Good burger. Darn good. Perfect bun, meat and cheese, perfect bacon and good fresh produce. Just all around A+. Ranch dressing was fantastic. Both husband and I were very happy with our orders. Better than some expensive chain burger places at a very good price. Service was fast, friendly and exactly as it should be. If we lived closer, we’d be regulars for sure.

Steaks n Cakes is on the corner of Intake Blvd. When visiting the river we always stop in for breakfast in the morning and dinner on the way home. Nothing fancy..however the food and service is good. While waiting for your meal there are some pretty interesting books at every table..lots of humor is added and I like it..as well as some of the cool signs hanging on the wall....one of favorites is, "People worry about stuff that 99% of the time won't even happen" 🙆 If you are coming through town stop by and give them a try.

Yesterday was our first time we came to that restaurant. But It is surely not the last. We had a good time with the good service, with the great meal and wine and with the modest cost. We will surely return there in a short time.

Breakfast here is real good. I got a steak for lunch and it was flavorless and a lot of fat. Good portion though and with some a1 it was okay. Servers were nice and the place was clean, but I would come for breakfast over lunch.

If visiting Blythe CA, this restaurant is one that the locals frequent. The food is mediocre, but prices are reasonable. Be prepared to wait some time for your food as the cook is rather slow in getting out the orders.

Classic Diner , great service, good food. I usually get the special depending on what it is. Love when there's prime rib or when they cook meat on the grill outside.

Great road stop between Cali and AZ. Service is great, food is normal roadstop food. Stick to the basics and you will be fine.

we eat at steak n cakes alot ,its always good, been open for yrs & yrs, its in east blythe where i live but tonites food well put it this way HOW DO YOU HAVE A PATTY MELT WITH NO CHEESE???how do even make it stay together with no cheese, i mean if i didnt want cheese i wouldnt of ordered a patty meltthey totally made up for the no cheese patty melt

Food was terrible and overpriced. I ordered the fried pork tenderloin. They brought me a frozen breaded pork patty from a box with brown gravy from a jar. The only thing actually prepared by the restaurant on my plate was an undercooked baked potato. Hardly what I would call comfort food. I’ll stick with the Courtesy. Much better food for the same price

Happened upon this gem after 13 hours and 800 miles in the saddles of our motorcycles. He had a ham and cheese omelette that he couldn't finish, and I had the small cheeseburger that hit the spot. The fries were just how I love: crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside..I hope the locals know how lucky they are too have a place like this in their midst.

Steaks & Cakes is nothing but a big mistake.Order the captain's platter and everything was damn near raw and cold inside.The waitress dropped off our food and never came back. Another waitress actually came over and asked us if she could help us. Very depressing and a waste of money

Really good breakfast joint. Service was friendly. Good coffee. you are passing through Blythe, this is worth a stop. Ham steak and bacon were both good quality. Really liked the biscuits and gravy.

A local dump. Good if you have standards below the dirt. Starving on the drive to ca- but it turned out I should have stayed hungry for another hour to get a decent meal. I just want to forget it ever happened and for this place to close down.Service was okay but the food was terrible. I thought I would stop here and support a local business, instead I ended up supporting a local dump. I’ve never lost my appetite while eating before this. The worst food I’ve ever had. Please just don’t. This place needs to go under. Don’t trust the good reviews. Did I mention the food was terrible?

Funky little coffee shop. Big portions for breakfast. Old American decor old tractors as decoration. An interesting landmark and attraction in Blythe, CA.

This is clearly one of the most pleasant restaurants in the neighborhood. Whenever I go there I am deeply satisfied. They hold their high standard service and the highest level of cooking they give. You will be always satisfied with this place. Warmly recommended.

Delish little mom and pop type diner

Had the steak salad. It was great. My son had the burger and he loved it too. It is truly a small town cafe. We will go back.

Another hidden gem. Just on the dreaded California side of the river. Lots of locals in and out. Chicken Fried Steak was fork tender. Biscuits and gravy very good.Will return if stuck on the border again.Very interesting decor. Staff friendly and attentive.

Had ham and cheese omlet, shared and was plenty of food. Tasted great! Service was excellent. Coffee was really good. They only have Pepsi products, so if you're looking for a diet Coke, plan an additional stop. Prices were good. Staff worked well as a team. They all pitched in on each other's tables. Steaks N Cakes will be added for our future trips from CA to AZ.

Stopped here for breakfast on my cross country trip. Things to point out: You seat yourself.There’s an extra $1.30 charge if you use card.Cute mom n’ pop breakfast diner.For 1 egg, 3 sausage, hash brown, and 1 pancake it was a little over $10.

Dont waste your time here. Dirty, blah food, and poor service. Its sub dennys, straight from the freezer, level food, nothing is fresh or "homemade". Certainly not worth stopping for. I dont know where these great burgers the other reviews rave about where hiding because the one they handed me was far from special.

Nice diner if you want a nice stop on the 10. Very good food and nice staff.
